Play-based school with an academic element

At The Sherman Oaks Nursery School, we focus on each child’s individual growthβ€”cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physicallyβ€”by providing a nurturing environment tailored to their unique developmental needs. Just as important, we strive to create a warm, family-oriented community where children and parents feel supported, connected, and valued every step
of the way.

The heart of our school is
our community

The Sherman Oaks Nursery School (TSONS), community and belonging are at the heart of everything we do. They are foundational to our school’s identity and philosophy. This strong sense of connection nurtures not only children’s cognitive, physical, and emotional growth, but also supports their social development as they engage meaningfully with peers, teachers, and parents.

Faculty who cares

The heart of our program is our wonderful teaching staff. This group of highly qualified, caring teachers has an average of 17 years of teaching experience and includes a former director. Collectively, this staff has 275 years of early childhood teaching. Our staff receives ongoing in-service training and opportunities for continued education in early childhood development.

A Spacious, Park-Like Campus Designed for Exploration

Our campus features three separate age-appropriate play yards, eight garden boxes, five classrooms, administrative offices, a Teacher Resource room and a pool which is utilized in the summer. We are located in a residential neighborhood, with our entrance discreetly situated in a cul de sac for maximum privacy and security.
